Husband afraid to have sex with me

Dear Pastor,

I am six months’ pregnant and this is my first pregnancy. I am 28 years old and my husband is 29.

He has fathered two children with two different women. His daughter is living with her mother and his son is living with his mother. I was not a virgin when I met my husband, but I was not having sex very often. But, after meeting my husband, we were having sex twice per week and sometimes even more. When I was convinced that he would marry me, we stopped using protection. After that, within a few months, I found myself pregnant.

I love having sex with my husband. He has taken me to cloud nine during sex. But, now that I am heavily pregnant, I have to literally force my husband to have sex with me. He says he does not want to hurt me or the baby. I feel very sexy and I feel ashamed to tell you that ,when my husband says no to me, I wait until he is asleep and I masturbate myself and discharge.

I want my husband to see this letter I am writing to you and to understand that having sex with me will not hurt our child. So please, help us by answering this letter soon.

Although many people feel that pregnant women should not engage in sex, especially when the pregnancy is over six months, they will be surprised to know that some women enjoy having sex during pregnancy more than when they are not pregnant.

I remember counselling a married woman who was pregnant and she said she got very angry with her husband because, when she wanted to have good sex, he kept telling her no. Finally, he agreed and had sex with her and, I don’t know if she was correct, but she said, soon after that, he had to take her to the hospital because she felt that she went into labour. Many men do indeed feel that they would hurt the child that the woman is carrying if they have sex, but that is not so.

This should be discussed with your doctor. Another woman told me that while she was pregnant, she and her husband had a unique way of bringing each other to orgasm. I will not divulge what they told me. Men who are scared that they would hurt their women by having sex with them should change the position that they practise. I think I have said enough on this. Just tell your husband there is nothing to fear by having sex with you.
