JCF sergeant dies suddenly at work

The Kingston Eastern Division of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) is in mourning after the sudden death of one of its own, Sergeant Davian Bennett, who was stationed at the Elletson Road Police Station in east Kingston.

Reports are that around 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4, Sergeant Bennett collapsed at the station. He was rushed to the Kingston Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The news has left many of his colleagues heartbroken. They described Bennett as a bright and promising officer who had only been promoted to the rank of sergeant in April of this year.

Members of the JCF's Chaplaincy Unit have since been providing counselling and support to those affected by his passing.

The Elletson Road Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
