Sanjay, Godzilla team up for new song

TV host/recording artiste Sanjay has teamed up with veteran dancer Godzilla for the dance song, ' Hype Yuh Self'.

"Godzilla reached out to me that he had a dance called Hype Yuh Self and wanted me to be a part of the project," said Sanjay. "Then Godzilla and his OG's dancers showed me the dance and I was impressed. We link up with Silver Birds Records, who created the rhythm and produced the song."

Sanjay added: "The song is about one's self, being confident, being proud of yourself, self-value, self-worth and self-love, and self-confidence."

Godzilla said the dance song has just been released on YouTube and the response has been good thus far.

"The world a say Hype Yuh Self. When I'm in the streets, is nuff love I get whenever my crew OG's do this dance. It's taking off like a frequent flyer. Hype yuh self, nuh bother fight yuh self."

Godzilla said that he has just returned to Jamaica after a one-year tour in Europe and Japan, when he ran into Sanjay.

"I told him, 'Dada, I have a new dance the world doing, even my daughter, and my dance is called Hype Yuh Self'. He said the name bad and I should show him the dance. So me and my team went by his Belleh Hostel to see him an' we do the dance and he recorded us, and he brought the video to the producer (Silver Birds) and the producer used clips from the video to create the rhythm; it's crazy stuff," he said.

Meanwhile, the video was filmed by Tyson Mayhew and shot on location at Hellshire Beach during Special Sundays, and at OG's dancers headquarters, located on Lyndhurst Road.

Meanwhile, Godzilla is currently on a tour in Europe teaching local dance moves to hundreds of dancers and dance enthusiasts.
