Cops probing death of 3-y-o girl found with bruises and swollen forehead

Police in St James are probing the mysterious death of a three-year-old girl who was rushed to hospital with multiple injuries late last night.

Reports are that the child was taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital by her 20-year-old mother about 9:19 p.m.

Sources say the toddler had bruises across her body along with swelling to the forehead. She was examined by doctors and pronounced dead on arrival.

The disturbing case has since triggered an investigation as detectives work to determine how the child sustained the injuries.

The Mount Salem Police are continuing their probe into the matter.
