Head coach of Edwin Allen High Michael Dyke has high expectations going into the three-day Penn Relays, which get under way on Thursday.

Edwin Allen will be defending the Championship of America 4x100m title, and following solid performances at the Gibson McCook Relays and the ISSA /GraceKennedy Boys and Girls' Athletics Championships in Class One, where they clocked 44.43 seconds to win on both occasions.

They are the fastest qualifiers in the event going into the carnival.

"The Edwin Allen girls are determined to continue where they left off at Champs 2026," said Dyke. "This is a strong, experienced team, and while we realise that nothing comes easy at the Penn Relays, we are going with high expectations and a clear focus." said Dyke.

With Reneica Edwards, Alexxe Henry, Shanique Cassanova and Kelly-Ann Carr set to carry the torch in the 4x100m, Dyke is looking for a lot more.

"Our goal is to win the 4x100m, then push for even more by capturing the 4x400m and 4x800m relays," said a buoyant Dyke.

Edwin Allen will be hoping to join Vere Technical as the only high school team to win three relays in the same year, as both the 4x400m and 4x800m teams are loaded.

Carr will lead the charge in the 4x400m, where she will have Kevongaye Fowler, Marria Crossfield and Horecia Love as company. Crossfield, Love and Fowler are also part of a strong 4x800m team.
