St Bess Football Club top league
St Bess FC moved 10 points clear atop the Jamaica Football Federation Super League Manchester/St Elizabeth zone on Sunday.
The Lacovia-based team outscored Villa United 4-2 to move to 35 points, 10 clear of nearest rivals and fellow St Elizabeth team Blackstars on 25.
Jamaica Youth player Rajay Wright scored his second brace in two weeks for St Bess FC. Oshane Staple and Taj Coley were the other goalscorers.
Blackstars dropped points at home after playing out 1-1 with Manchester’s Los Perfectos, who are third in the standing with 23 points.
Holland PYC - third from bottom in the 10-team league - and New Holland - sitting at the foot of the table - played to a 2-2 draw.
On March 28, Chris-Andrew Dixon scored for St Bess FC to beat Holland PYC 1-0.
Real Treasure Beach, who have a game in hand and are fourth on 22 points, lost to Downs of Manchester 2-0.
New Holland scored the day’s other win, edging Porus 2-1.
