‘Jacket’ bombshell - Dad orders DNA tests for 14 of his children after shocking result

December 18, 2025

A Jamaica-born businessman living in the United States says his world came crashing down after a paternity test revealed he was not the biological father of one of the 15 children who proudly called him "Daddy".

Now reeling from the shock, Jack* says he intends to have DNA tests conducted on the remaining 14 children. He is also bracing himself for the possibility that at least half of them may not share his bloodline.

"All when dem fava mi, I am still gonna do it because muma will hate yuh and di pickney come fava yuh," Jack reas0ned.

Jack believes he is one of countless Jamaican men caught in the web of paternity fraud -- a reality he says hit him hardest when the test proved negative for the child he was closest to.

Although he suspected that the teenager was not his daughter, Jack said he shared a special bond with her and was heartbroken when the paternity results indicated they were not related.

"Mi almost catch stroke enuh, 'cause all mi mouth start tighten up pon mi," he said, describing a depressive episode that followed the revelation.

Jack's name has now joined a growing list of men linked to what he calls a basket of deception. Back in 2021, another man, John*, a security guard, also discovered he was not the father of the same child and three of her siblings.

Jack admitted to have cheated on his wife with Sasha*, the child's mother. Breaking the news to his wife caused serious strain on his marriage, though the couple later reconciled. Jack said he nevertheless stepped fully into the father role, attending clinic visits whenever he was in Jamaica and providing financial support.

But, years later, he learnt that his name was not listed on the birth certificate.

When a sibling bluntly told him he was a "jacket wearer", Jack said he cut ties -- not only with his sister, but with the child -- for nearly three years.

Fate, however, wasn't finished. Last year, after Jack posted a photo of himself online, the teenager found him and reached out.

"Mi nearly block her, but mi say to miself mi deh a foreign a send money to people weh nuh deserve it," he said.

Their bond quickly reignited.

"Out a all 15 a dem, a she alone call mi every day. Mi give her everything she want. Mi never grow wid parents, so mi pour into mi children," he said.

Still, doubt lingered. A few weeks ago, Jack decided to finally settle the question with a DNA test.

"Mi tell her say, whatever di result, mi still a guh take care a her. Mi just wanted di truth," he said.

The result devastated him -- but didn't change his heart.

"I love this little girl and she will always be my daughter," Jack said. "I am hoping that her mother will allow me to adopt her and bring her around mi. She deserves a father and she is my daughter, biological or not," Jack added.
